Obtaining Residency in the Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands Government offers several immigration options for wealthy, private investors and senior executives who are seeking permanent or long-term residence in the Cayman Islands.
CERTIFICATE OF PERMANENT RESIDENCY FOR PERSONS OF INDEPENDENT MEANS
Persons who invest a minimum of $2 million Cayman Islands' Dollars in developed real estate in the Cayman Islands may apply.
Certificate holders have the right to reside indefinitely in the Cayman Islands.
Certificate holders may seek naturalisation as a British Overseas Territories Citizen and, thereafter, the right to be Caymanian.
The holder of a Certificate of Permanent Residence and his spouse and dependent children are allowed to reside permanently in the Cayman Islands without the right to work.
RESIDENCY CERTIFICATE FOR PERSONS OF INDEPENDENT MEANS
This option is for persons who wish to reside long-term in the Cayman Islands without the right to work.
Persons who invest $1 million Cayman Islands' Dollars, of which at least $500,000 must be in developed real estate in Grand Cayman.
A successful applicant will be granted permission to reside in the Islands for a period of 25 years (renewable).
The spouse and any dependent children of a holder of certificate holders will be granted a Residency Holders (Dependant's) Certificate entitling them to reside in the Cayman Islands without the right to work.
